Hey Seniors! We are getting so close to your time to shine! If you haven’t booked yet, now is the time! Here are some super awesome tips to help you feel confident during your Senior Photo Experience!
- Turn Your Body Slightly Sideways
I cannot say it enough! Angling is super important, because it will help you appear slimmer as well as pull out all the features worth pulling out! Shift your foot to one leg to allow a little more curve in all the right places!
2. Keep those shoulders down!
Elevating your shoulders makes you look stiff and uncomfortable. If you are feeling tense, this is your dead giveaway. Pull your shoulders down, allowing you to accentuate your collarbone.
3. Chin up and Out!
I tell all of my clients this, not just seniors. To help avoid the “double chin” and accentuate your jaw line, bring your chin forward and tilt down ever so slightly! This also will make your eyes look bigger! Another trick? Tilt your head slightly to one side (but not too much!)
4. Bend your Elbows and Knees
Stiff arms and legs makes for a very uncomfortable looking stance. Keep your elbows bent and slightly away from your body. This accentuates the right part of your waist and also makes you look skinner! The same goes for your legs. Always lean on one leg if standing and bend the other slightly, or when sitting bend at least one leg.
5. Hold something in front of your waist
Use a prop such as a musical instrument, book, or a laptop to hide your middle section. you could also use your elbows as well!
6. Place yourself lower than the camera
You may notice that i will take some photos from the ground, which can also be slimming if done right, but also notice i will take photos slightly elevated than you. This is the same rule for selfies, ladies and gents!
7. Lean with it!
Lean your head and upper body toward the camera, this invites us into your photo!
