I can speak from the heart, personally, having five kiddos of my own- there is nothing like the feeling of becoming a parent for the first time, and each time you bring a little miracle into the world.
For centuries, parents could only use physical photo albums to cherish their newborns memories, but in modern days we have countless ways to cherish those beautiful early memories!
- Newborn Photo Shoot
The difference between baby pictures of the past and present is the amount of effort and time put into making the perfect shoot. I can remember even with my first child, 17 years ago, I had 20 minutes at a photo shoot so the time and patience that it took to get a child content and photo ready just wasn’t a thing. With the growing presence of modern newborn photography, parent’s no longer hesitate to go all out for their newest little’s first photo shoot!
Professional photographers now use beautiful props, great lighting, unique angles and poses to capture your newborn in all of the best ways! We all know that they only are little for so long, so don’t miss that opportunity to capture those moments!
2. Baby Scrapbook / Journal
You probably already have a baby book, but I suggest actually keeping a baby journal! this is a book that you can document your newborn, baby, and then toddlers everyday life through a visual journal. You can get extremely creative by attaching small keepsakes, such as paintings, drawings, snapshots, and so much more!
3. Handprints and Footprints
There are so many adorable ways to capture your littles handprints and footprints, there are actually endless kids available on the web. From molds, to canvas, there are so many ways to remember just how little your newborn was!
4. Memory Box
I can speak from experience that it was incredibly hard to throw ANYTHING away with my first! Anything from crafts, paintings, first writings, etc were incredibly hard to get rid of, thus get a memory box! You can find so many cute boxes and stores such as Hobby Lobby that can contain these items! When your child is older, you can share all of these super super memorable and priceless keepsakes!
5. Memory Quilt
One of my favorite ideas that one of my clients actually shared with me recently is a memory quilt. She saved all of her favorite newborn outfits, blankets, burp rags, etc and when her child turned 1, she had these items made into a quilt! This is a way to hold on to those memories forever!
