One question I get quite frequently is if moms should reschedule there newborn sessions if there newborn has jaundice. Its suprising to note that most babies do end up with a little bit of jaundice.
Jaundice causes yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes, and I’m often asked by parents of babies with jaundice whether they should postpone their newborn photos shoot until after the jaundice clears.
So should you delay that newborn shoot?
The answer is, it depends.
According to the advice on the NHS website, most babies don’t need treatment for jaundice because the jaundice will usually clear on it’s own within the first 10-14 days. In this cause, there is no need to delay your newborn photo shoot.
I am able to carefully remove the yellowing of your baby’s skin and the whites of their eyes in my post processing workflow.
However, when treatment is required babies are usually admitted to the hospital. If this happens to be the case then we will postpone your newborn photo shoot until your baby has been discharged, as your newborns health and safety is my number one priority.
